Eco Friendly Home Decor…
Our natural environment means something to me. As a dedicated “tree-hugger,” I like to keep my studio as eco-friendly as possible. I use recycled cotton fiber canvas materials, along with strictly water based paints, varnishes, and natural water puddy for building up textures. I always tease and say that nothing is safe around me if I can use it to paint with. We’re talkin’ about old T shirts, scrap pieces of foam core from framing shops, chop sticks from take out orders that I use for mixing and dripping the paint, …you name it! There’s only about a bajillion things to paint with besides actual paint brushes, including your own hands! I’ve even used my daughter’s happy meal toys from McDonald’s to make different paint impressions and shapes that I find interesting after you dip ‘em in paint a few times. Seriously, nothing is safe around here. If I get my hands on it, and get an idea, it’s all over!
